School Business Managers Health & Safety

The course aims to provide SBMs with the knowledge to be able to effectively manage the health and safety of the school.

On successful completion of the course, SBM’s will be able to:

• Understand the requirements of the HASAWA 1974 and Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
• How to implement a successful health and safety management system
• Implement a risk profile system and develop suitable and sufficient risk assessments
• Understanding of legal, industry and school standards for managing health and safety
• Implement good estates management
• Appreciate the consequences of failing to manage health and safety effectively
