All NASPM training is led by highly experienced education and school health and safety professionals. Our trainers bring deep, practical knowledge gained from working directly with schools, local authorities, academy trusts and education estates. This ensures that every session is grounded in real-world challenges, current legislation and best practice.

We offer a wide range of live online courses, covering all key areas of school premises management, health and safety compliance and statutory obligations. Whether you are looking to strengthen day-to-day operational safety or gain assurance at leadership level, there is a course to meet your needs.

Every course is delivered live, not pre-recorded. This allows delegates to engage fully with the trainer and ask questions at the end of each session, ensuring learning is relevant to their own school context.

  • Risk Assessing for Premises Staff

  • Managing Contractors

    This course follows HSE’s approach to managing contractors.   Participants will understand what steps they need to take to manage contractors on school premises, the risks associated with contractors’ works and create an effective plan to control them. The importance of co-operation and coordination with contractors, the use of safe systems of work and permits.  On completion of this course, participants will possess the knowledge and skills required to manage contractors while on site. They will understand the importance of contract coordination and cooperation and be able to review safe systems of work. 

  • Fire Warden

    This course is based on the RRFSO and BB100 School Fire Standard. This training covers the standards stipulated for School Fire Safety, schools' FRA, fire evacuation plan and procedures, PEEPS, and emergency arrangements.   On completion of this course, the school staff become competent fire wardens and have the knowledge of RRFSO 2005 requirements and how to ensure the school has suitable and sufficient fire evacuation plans. Also, awareness of fire risk management and the key control measures of being a competent fire warden 

  • How to Complete Stress Risk Assessments

    This practical and engaging training course is designed specifically for school leaders, business managers, pastoral teams, and staff with health and safety responsibilities. The session provides a clear, structured approach to identifying, assessing, and managing work‑related stress risks within a school environment. Participants will learn how to conduct effective stress risk assessments that protect staff wellbeing, comply with legal duties, and support a positive, resilient school culture. By the end of the course, participants will be able to: Understand legal duties around managing work‑related stress, including employer responsibilities. Identify common stressors in school settings, using real‑world examples from teaching, support, administrative, and leadership roles. Use recognised frameworks (such as HSE Management Standards) to structure a thorough assessment of stress risks. Carry out individual and team‑level stress risk assessments confidently and consistently. Have supportive, constructive conversations with staff to explore stress concerns sensitively and professionally. Develop effective control measures, from workload adjustments and role clarity to cultural improvements and wellbeing support mechanisms. Document assessments clearly and produce actionable risk reduction plans. Monitor and review stress risks to ensure controls remain effective and issues do not escalate.

  • COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)

    This COSHH training course provides an understanding of hazardous substances, as outlined within the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH). It will equip you with the knowledge needed to identify hazardous substances in your workplace and understand the legal requirements of COSHH.  By completing this training, you will be aware of how to undertake a COSHH risk assessment and know the different control measures that can be implemented to manage risks that hazardous substances can cause.  On completion of this course, participants will be able to identify the hazardous substances used within school, know how to undertake a COSHH risk assessment and will be able to establish the control measures and work practices required to maintain a safe environment for both building users and operational staff. 

  • Manual Handling Risk Assessment

    This course is based on the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992(MHOR). It raises awareness of the dangers associated with manual handling and the practical steps that can be taken to minimise and control the risks that it presents.  Participants will be able to risk assess tasks, use safe lifting and moving techniques and reduce the chances of injury due to manual handling.  On completing this course, participants will be able to risk assess tasks and use safe moving and lifting techniques, thereby reducing the risk of injury to operational staff and building users. 

  • Education Estates® Show Manchester

    We will be attending the Education Estates® Show at Manchester Central on 20 and 21 October 2026. This is the UK’s leading event for education infrastructure, bringing together professionals involved in the funding, design, build, maintenance and management of schools, colleges and universities. The two-day programme features a multi-stream conference covering practical insight and best practice, a wide-ranging exhibition of suppliers and solutions, and an awards ceremony celebrating excellence in the sector.
